One thing I neglected to mention in my “Eating Japanese Food” post was this picture right above. There’s a story behind this food and why it became the highlight of my visit to Japan.
I am super excited to share this recipe ughhhhhh This is one of the best Snickerdoodle recipes I’ve ever tried. Cinnamon is jkldjakfoahsdn
I love cinnamon.
I’m going to try something a little different today. There’ll be no baking. Instead, I’ll show you some (well, lots) of picture that I took when I travelled to Japan. Feast your eyes on these!
Graham and butter are probably the two combinations I will not refuse. They’re soulmates. It’s as plain and simple as that, which is why I made another post about cheesecake and this time it comes in a cute little form.
To be more exact, it’s a mango-apple pie. I used a hybrid fruit: a mango and apple in one. It looks like a mango but it has a reddish-yellow color. I didn’t have any mangoes around. That’s me, you know. I just make use of anything lying around — like an exotic mango-apple fruit. It’s sort of ironic. 🤔
It’s ironic that I love baking sweet things, but I don’t like eating too much of it. This matcha chocolate is perfect for me! The bitterness of the matcha balances out the sweetness of the chocolate and it’s so easy to make. Not to mention that matcha has lots of healthy benefits, which is probably diluted by the white chocolate. 🤔
In any case, this chocolate is gooood!
Yum Yum Yum… the best brownie recipe I found was in an old book. Granted, this is the only brownie recipe I remember ever making so my opinion probably lost its credibility. Nah! You guys can trust my taste buds! 🤤
So I was eating at an Italian restaurant yesterday and they were serving free bread. And nope, they didn’t serve Focaccia bread. I was a bit disappointed because Focaccia bread always goes so well with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Still, the normal bread was good. But my craving for Focaccia bread wasn’t appeased, so I said what the heck? Let’s make some Focaccia Bread!
I was really craving ice cream last night so I bought a sundae. Then, an idea suddenly popped in my head. What if I made some ice cream? I just knew that this was something I had to do. It was instinct. I needed ice cream. And it was so easy to make!

I was simply craving cheesecake. Hmmmm… cheesecake. My mom was supposed to make Japanese cheesecake for my Dad’s birthday, which is different from the typical cheesecake that we know — the one with the graham cracker crust (we’ll get to this later). What makes it different, really? Continue reading “My Cheesecake Journey”
